Bay Area Military Classic moves to Wente

The Bay Area Military Classic moves this June 24 to the Course at Wente Vineyards in the Livermore Valley.

The fundraising tournament supports the valley military community: active, guard and reserve members of the Armed Forces, veterans who are transitioning, wounded warriors and Gold Star families. It’s presented by the MG William F. Dean Chapter of the Association of the United States Army. The chapter has partnered with The Joey Graves Foundation – Some Gave All, in order to best reach and support local Gold Star Families.

This year’s opening ceremony will feature the famous 25th Infantry Division Huey flying in special guests Major (retired) and Medal of Honor Recipient Jim Taylor and World War II Navy veteran and Pearl Harbor Survivor Mickey Ganitch.

The opening ceremony starts at 10:30 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 11 a.m. for the scramble format tournament. The awards dinner and auction begins at 5 p.m.

The tournament is presented by Pleasanton-based The Cooper Companies. The firm donated  Cooper Companies has again donated $20,000 toward the success of this event so that every dollar you donate goes straight to those we want to help.

Significant other sponsors include Bienati Consulting Group, Ponderosa Homes, MCH Electric, Summit Roofing, The Rose Hotel, The Pleasanton Weekly. The Texas Roadhouse is the luncheon sponsor, while Mercedes Benz of Pleasanton and East Bay BMW are the hole-in-one sponsors.

Organizers are seeking additional sponsors to support the event. To register, volunteer to help or contribute an auction item, please go to the website:https://birdeasepro.com/BAMC
