Beach House Hotel partners perfectly with Sam’s

If you are planning on a night of fine food and wine at Sam’s Chowder House and do not want to drive back home, then the ideal lodging property is the Beach House Hotel.

It is located just south of Sam’s on Highway 1 and is a 2-minute stroll up the paved Ocean Trail.

During my visit, what set our experience apart was the excellent service from the front desk team. Not wanting to schlep our golf clubs to our room on the second floor, they figured out a space to hold them in the office area behind the desk.

When we asked about walking to Sam’s, they readily recommended taking the paved coastal trail and volunteered they would provide a flashlight (an excellent idea) and then told us how to reach
the gate that led to the stairs down to the beach trail level.

When it came time to depart, one of them fetched the two travel bags with the golf clubs and then joined me to roll them both out to our vehicle. It was a helpful and unexpected service.

The 54 rooms feature wood-burning fireplaces (a manufactured log is ready to light), balconies or patios looking out on the Pacific Ocean and small refrigerators, microwaves, wet bars with full sinks and two-burner stoves. With a nice hide-a-bed sofa, two chairs and a coffee table in the step-down living area, it is
well-designed for either a family or couples getaway.

The comfortable king-size bed is complemented by a flat-screen TV on a counter that can serve as a work area if you need to catch up on email.

The rooms include a classic continental breakfast as well as a Friday night wine hour. The breakfast is available in the lobby that features a large fireplace as well as a sweeping circular stairway going up to the second floor.

Free wireless internet connections are available as well as complimentary parking. Complete spa services are offered as well as a number of meeting rooms for corporate events.

The Half Moon Bay has a sister property in Hermosa Beach in Southern California that also is beach side and on The Strand, a coastal pathway that runs from Redondo Beach to Pacific Palisades.
