Livermore Valley barrel tasting weekend coming in March

The Livermore Valley wine country’s popular barrel tasting weekend is just around the corner.

ACES has partnered with the Livermore Valley Winegrowers Association to offer two tickets to the two-day event that features barrel tasting at more than 30 wineries. It’s a scenic time to visit the valley with green hills and trees and vines budding out on March 23 and 24.

Barrel tasters will have the opportunity to meet the winemakers, sample wines and buy futures for their own wine cellars. People can start their weekend with a Saturday brunch at Garre Vineyard and Winery or Sunday at Rios-Lovell.

The following wineries are participating: 3 Steve’s Winery, Bent Creek Winery, Big White House Winery, Boa Ventura de Caires, Cedar Mountain Winery & Port Works, Charles R Vineyards, Crooked Vine Winery, Dante Robere Vineyards, Darcie Kent Vineyards, Eagle Ridge Vineyard, Ehrenberg Cellars, el Sol Winery, Embodied Wines, Fenestra Winery, Garré Vineyard and Winery, Las Positas Vineyards, Leisure Street Winery, Longevity Wines, McGrail Vineyards & Winery, Mitchell Katz Winery, Murrieta’s Well, Omega Road Winery, Page Mill Winery, Retzlaff Estate Winery, Rios-Lovell Winery, Rodrigue Molyneaux Winery, The Singing Winemaker, The Steven Kent Winery, Wente Vineyards, Winemaker’s Studio and Wood Family Vineyard.

Throughout the months of February and March, the winegrowers are sponsoring painted wine barrels at many wineries in the Livermore Valley. Participating wineries and artists include: Big White House Winery with artist Jessica Carroll; Charles R Vineyards; Embodied Wines with artist Skylar Wolf; Fenestra Winery with artist Lela Witherspoon & the art students of Del Valle High School; McGrail Vineyards & Winery with artist Laina Carter; Murrieta’s Well with artist Helene Marie Roylance; Omega Road Winery with Vena Geasa; Page Mill Winery with artist Melinda Salerno; Retzlaff Vineyards; Wente Estate Tasting Room with artist Joel Tesch; Wood Family Vineyards with artist Ben Fish.

The Livermore winegrowers have partnered with several transportation companies to provide options for barrel tasters. Participants are encouraged to designate a driver or arrange for transportation with options ranging from limousines to taxis, chartered buses and wine trollies.
