Four members of the California men’s golf team were named to the 2026 NCAA Division 1 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars, as announced by Golf Coaches Association of America on Monday. Fifth year Charlie Berridge was named to the team for the second consecutive year, while redshirt junior Charlie Bundy, redshirt sophomore Sihao Cong, and senior Daniel Heo earned the first selection of their careers.
Berridge played in seven events and 20 rounds in his final year as a Golden Bear. He put together a 73.55 stroke average, and his best finish of the season came at the Folds of Honor Collegiate where he tied for 16th place at 3-over par. Bundy, the back to back recipient of the Golden Bear Award, given annually to the player with the highest GPA on the team, graduated from Cal in May with his degree in Computer Science.
Bundy, who was also named to the CSC Academic All-District team as well as the ACC All-Academic team, just concluded his second year at Strawberry Canyon, majoring in business administration. He played in nine events and 26 rounds this season, putting together a 73.35 scoring average. His best finish of the season came at the St. Andrews Collegiate, finishing in second place at 4-under-par in stroke play. Bundy shot a 6-under-par 210 at the NIT, finishing in 14th place, and shot a 4-under-par 206 at the Western Intercollegiate, finishing in a tie for 10th place. He finished the season with five rounds in the 60’s and nine rounds under par.
Cong was a valuable piece of the Golden Bears lineup in his third year with the team. He played in 12 events and 35 rounds, recording a stroke average of 72.03. He had seven top-25 finishes and 11 rounds under par, with nine in the 60’s. His best finish was 11th place at the Tindall, finishing at five-under par.
Heo graduated from Cal in May with a degree in economics, also earning a spot on the ACC All-Academic Team. He played in eight events and 23 rounds this season, putting together a 71.83 stroke average. Heo finished in fourth place at St. Andrews at 3-under-par in stroke play. He had four top-25 finishes and eight rounds in the 60’s. Heo finished in 22nd place at the NCAA Columbus Regional at 8-over-par. He finished in 15th place at the Tindall shooting a 3-under-par 213, and tied for 19th place at the Folds of Honor Collegiate with a 3-over-par 216. His last top 20 finish came at the Western Intercollegiate where he finished tied for 18th place at 1-under-par.

To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a
sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and
NAIA, or receiving their associate’s degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the
NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team’s competitive rounds, have a
stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I, and maintain a minimum cumulative career
grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good
standing at their college or university.
