Ooh la la! What does the French Laundry and Pebble Beach Resorts share in common with the Navy SEALS? Aside from representing two bucket list experiences in the culinary and golf worlds, these iconic venues are the host venues for the 32nd Annual Legends Invitational Golf Tournament, November 9-13, 2023, to support the Navy SEAL Museum (501(c)(3) organization) and celebrate Medal of Honor recipients in the Navy SEAL Community.
Founded in 1990 and co-owned by John Lee and Mary Lee, the four-day event is recognized as one of the most prestigious and longest-running, privately owned tournaments at Pebble Beach Resorts. Every year, this one-of-a-kind experience that includes golf, entertainment, and camaraderie brings together Medal of Honor recipients, NAVY Seals, NFL greats and Pro Football Hall of Fame players, like Jan Stenerud, Anthony Munoz, and Randall McDaniels, serving as celebrity captains paired with every foursome.
“Legends Invitational has been an incredible 31-year journey and each time we get together it is like a reunion of great friends and family,” says Lee. “With all the social evening functions guests have plenty of opportunity to make new friends and enjoy each other’s company. This is the ideal event for your best clients, your best employees, and your best friends.”
Inspired by the classic Crosby Clambakes, the Legends Invitational reserves three days of exclusive play on Pebble Beach GL, Spanish Bay GL, and Spyglass Hill GC, in addition to hosting three unique entertainment evenings: an opening night function highlighted by a Navy SEALS’ tactical demonstration involving members of the special operations force parachuting (with their canine) onto the fairway at Spanish Bay GL; a NFL up-close-and-personal Gala event, and the Awards Banquet at the Beach & Tennis Club at Pebble Beach.
The night prior to the official tournament kickoff at Pebble Beach, the Legends reserves the entire French Laundry for a White Truffle Dinner to pay tribute to Medal of Honor recipients and Navy SEALS. This is an unrivaled culinary experience personally hosted by the restaurant’s owner/chef, Thomas Keller. As a separate event from the golf tournament, the opportunity is available to participate in this event alone and/or the golf tournament. It’s the perfect pairing!
Whichever event(s) you choose to participate, the reward at the end of the day is knowing you will be supporting our country’s military special forces heroes and their families.
