We initially reported on ACES that the PGA Tour pulled the Procore Championship because of Procore bailing on its sponsorship.
At the time, there was some talk about possibly finding a new sponsor as there was still an opening on the dates the tournament was scheduled for. That has now been extinguished. In a statement from Andy McDowell, the Executive Director of the Procore Championships, those hopes are no longer.
Following is the statement from McDowell:
I’m writing to share an important update regarding our tournament. As previously communicated, Procore elected not to extend its partnership as our title sponsor. After working closely with the PGA TOUR, we were recently informed of the difficult decision to discontinue the tournament we’ve proudly hosted in Napa for the past 12 years.
While this news is disappointing, our SPORTFIVE team takes tremendous pride in all that we accomplished together. Over the past 12 years, the tournament crowned 10 outstanding champions, raised nearly $10 million for charity, generated meaningful economic impact for the region, and created countless memories. We came together after devastating wildfires, navigated multiple title sponsor transitions, and continued play through a global pandemic. Through it all, one theme stood above the rest – Napa is a special place, strengthened by an extraordinary community of people and business leaders.
We are deeply grateful to the Impact Through Golf board, sponsors, volunteers, ticket buyers, community partners, the Silverado Resort staff and members, and the PGA TOUR team. Your commitment, energy, and support made this event exceptional year after year. Because of your efforts, this tournament became a favorite stop for many TOUR players and their families, and I’ve heard from several who will genuinely miss their annual trip to Napa.
Thank you for your partnership, your passion, and the care you brought to this event. I wish you all the best moving forward and hope you take great pride in the impact you helped create.
With Gratitude,
Andy McDowell
