I have always felt that one of the most underappreciated golf apparel items is sunglasses.
I have had the opportunity to wear multiple pairs/types of sunglasses over the years while on the course. I have certainly had my favorites over the years, but on the flip side, I have come across ones that, while I may have loved them as a pair of regular sunglasses, on the course they did not cut it.
For me it always has come down to how sunglasses work on the green. If the sun/weather warrants wearing sunglasses then I want to be able to wear them on the green while putting.
Iāve had pairs over the year I would take off on the green so as to better to read the green. It was a pain as it took some time for my eyes to adjust to accurately read the green.
My current sunglasses, while outstanding while I am driving or just being outside, I felt failed me on the green.
That being the case, I set out to find a new pair for the golf course.
It took all of one trial until I hit paydirt.
Popticals offer everything I am looking for with their NYDEF Golf Lenses.
In partnering with optics industry leader Carl Zeiss Vision, Popticals created a set of lenses 20 percent clearer and lighter in weight than polycarbonate lenses used in most other sunglasses.
They help see the topography not just of the green but the entire course clearly while also enabling better tracking and visibility of the ball.
Another selling point ā they weigh less than an ounce.
The golf-specific lenses are available in seven different frame styles, feature purple and violet tints that reduce the green saturation of golf courses and unleash the golfersā ability to distinguish between green gradients to identify course contours and variations on every shot, even grain patterns on green.
All this and you still get UV400 protection.
It’s one thing for a company to promote their product as all do with the description of what the product will do for you, but itās another thing when the words ring true with the product out on the course.
I recently played a round at the Silverado Resort North course with Popticals as my sunglasses. It was very refreshing when everything promised in the sales pitch came true.
Popticals golf performance eyewear is intentionally non-polarized by design to avoid flattening images and preserve depth perception.
It was easier to follow my ball and when I got to the green, I was able to keep the glasses on while reading the green. Itās a luxury I extremely value when putting.
The other cool aspect of Popticals is the storage of them.
With their patented FL2 Micro-Rail Systemā¢ design, Popticals snap into place for use and then collapse into a uniquely compact size for safe and secure portability in their protective hard case, fitting comfortably in a jacket or the smallest pocket of a golf bag.
If you are in search of a new pair of sunglasses to use while golfing, I highly recommend Popticals. I think you find everything you are looking for when on the golf course.
