DEAR FRIENDS OF PEBBLE BEACH,

We hope this message finds you, your family and friends safe and in good health.
For the past one hundred years, Pebble Beach Company has provided world-renown, uninterrupted hospitality to guests from near and far, who are drawn to the Resort’s majestic natural beauty and incomparable golf courses. That changed on March 21 when we closed our doors to help slow the spread of COVID-19. While it was difficult to see our beloved facilities sit empty, we take solace in knowing that our unwavering commitment to the health and safety of our guests, employees, and community has remained consistent throughout this unprecedented challenge.
On May 1, Monterey County announced that golf courses would be allowed to reopen for play, under a strict set of social distancing rules and procedures. In order to ensure we provide the safest environment for our guests and employees, we made the decision to reopen our courses in phases, starting with Pebble Beach Golf Links and Spyglass Hill Golf Course, both of which opened on Monday, May 4. We have been thrilled to see golfers back on the course and embracing the new operating procedures.
Monterey County continues to make progress in its reopening with restaurants and retail shops now being allowed to open as long as they follow a prescribed set of social distancing and sanitization guidelines. Similar to our golf courses, we will be reopening our restaurants and retail shops in phases. The Bench, Tap Room and Gallery reopened Saturday, May 30, and a selection of retail shops at The Lodge, along with 17-Mile Drive, opened earlier today, June 1. We are hopeful that hotels are not far behind, and have set a target date of June 15 for the reopening of The Lodge at Pebble Beach and The Inn at Spanish Bay.
Focusing on health and safety is not new to Pebble Beach Resorts; it is hardwired into the processes our team carries out every day. That said, when we closed the resort, we knew we would reopen to a very different environment. During our closure, we performed a top-to-bottom assessment of our health and safety practices throughout the resort. The result is a comprehensive health, safety and social distancing program that addresses the needs of today’s environment and is designed with a singular purpose – to help ensure the health and safety of every guest and employee while not compromising the Pebble Beach experience. This process was informed by guidance from leading healthcare organizations as well as through consultation with healthcare and sanitization experts. A summary of these new procedures can be found on our website here. Prior to reopening any aspect of the Resort we are training every employee on these new procedures.
We are closely following reopening guidelines from the State of California and Monterey County and will keep you updated as the situation continues to evolve. The Pebble Beach family looks forward to welcoming you back to the place you love, with the same level of excellence you have come to expect.
Wishing you safety and good health,
Bill Perocchi
