The USGA has a long history of championships at Pebble Beach Golf Links, and the course has been the site of many of golfâs greatest moments. The 2019 U.S. Open will be the 13th USGA championship at Pebble Beach: five U.S. Amateurs (including the upcoming 2018 U.S. Amateur), two U.S. Womenâs Amateurs and six U.S. Opens (including the upcoming 2019 U.S. Open). The USGA has also awarded Pebble Beach the 2027 U.S. Open, along with the 2023 U.S. Womenâs Open, the first time this national championship will be played at Pebble Beach.
The 2019 U.S. Open will mark the second time that the USGA and Pebble Beach have celebrated centennials together â the USGA conducted its 100th U.S. Open at Pebble Beach in 2000, and Pebble Beach Golf Links will ring in its centennial in 2019.
