Moa Andersson shot a 2-over 74 to lead the San José State women’s golf team on Monday after the first round of the NCAA Gold Canyon Regional at the Superstition Mountain Golf & Country Club.
- Andersson started the round shooting a 36 on the front nine, making seven pars.
- Rebecca Gyllner shot a 4-over 76 and is in 38th place. She made six consecutive pars on holes 5-10, making a birdie on 11 and then pars on five of her seven final holes.
- Isabella Cioe is in 43rd place after a 5-over 77. She shot an even-par 36 over the final nine holes, ending her round with a birdie on the par-5 18th.
- Nicola Kaminski shot a 7-over 79 and is tied for 48th, and had a string of seven consecutive holes making pars.
- Lucia Lopez Ortega is tied for 56th at 9-over 81, making two birdies and eight pars during the round.
- The Spartans finished the day in 10th place at 18-over 306.
UP NEXT – Second-round action begins Tuesday at 8 a.m. PT, with the Spartans beginning play at 8:55 a.m. off the 10th tee with Sacramento State and Quinnipiac.
