The FedExCup playoffs begin today, as the top 70 golfers in the FedExCup standings take part in the St. Jude Championship at the TPC Southwind in Memphis.
The top 50 in the standings will advance to the second leg of the playoffs, leaving out the bottom 20 of the top 70 out at the end of the tournament.
Rory McIlroy will tee it up after missing the tournament last year. It will be his first start since The Open Championships. Tommy Fleetwood is the defending playoff champion, with Justin Rose as the defending champion of the tournament.
Scottie Sheffler, despite winning only once this year, enters as the top player in points thanks to his consistent play throughout the season.
One player who will garner plenty of attention will be Jackson Koivun. Koivun, who won the 3M Open in only his third start as a professional, tied the record held by Tiger Woods for the fewest number of starts (5) to earn a spot in the FedExCup playoffs.
Following is the television coverage schedule for the no-cut event.
Thursday-Friday: 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on the Golf Channel. Saturday-Sunday, 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Golf Channel, 12 noon-3 p.m. on CBS.
