Cal Places Seventh At Western Intercollegiate

Daniel Heo shot 2-under-par 68 on Wednesday and earned a top-five individual finish to highlight the California men’s golf team’s final round at the Western Intercollegiate.

 

The Golden Bears (1,062, +12) shot 4-over 354 in the third round, finishing in seventh place at Pasatiempo Golf Club. San Diego State (-6) won the tournament title while Stanford (-1), Pepperdine (+6), Nihon University (+7) and UNLV (+8) rounded out the top five.

 

Heo (-5) notched birdies on holes 6, 9 and 14 before taking a bogey on 15. The junior moved up six spots on the leaderboard into the tie for fifth place, marking the third time he’s finished inside the top six in the 2024-25 season. Wenliang Xie also shot under par in the final round with a 1-under 69, jumping 22 spots into a tie for 49th.
