Downtown Pleasanton Wine Stroll set for May 7

Lovers of wine and good times should put Saturday, May 7 on their schedule to visit downtown Pleasanton and celebrate its first wine stroll in two years.

Readers of ACES Golf can enter to win two tickets to the event sponsored by the Pleasanton Downtown Association. Keep reading for details.

The wine stroll will be part of the celebration of the first Main Street closure of the 2022 season. The City Council decided to close Main Street for the first weekend of each month instead of every weekend as they did in 2021 and 2020. It had been closed on weekends for the past two summers to allow ample outdoor dining for restaurants who were struggling for business during the pandemic.

The first weekend closure will feature enhanced family programming from the Pleasanton Downtown Association according to interim Executive Director Laura Brooks. The association will offer family-oriented events from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. The closures will run from May to December. Restaurants also can start using their parklets in the streets during the same window. They had been removed for the holiday shopping season and the winter/early spring.

The wine stroll follows the successful St. Patrick’s Day Brew Crawl that featured samples of craft beers and ciders in downtown businesses. Wine will take center stage on May 7.

Tickets at $50 at on sale.  ACES Golf is partnering with the downtown association to give away two tickets to a lucky ACES reader. You can register for the free drawing by following this link.
