Procore Championship Seeking Volunteers

The Procore Championship is now accepting applications for new volunteers. Held annually in the heart of wine country, this event is part of the FedExCup Fall Series and attracts a mix of top-tier players and rising stars. More than 800 volunteers contribute to the tournamentā€™s success. Notable participants have included Sahith Theegala, Max Homa, Hideki Matsuyama, Rickie Fowler, Justin Thomas, Tony Finau, Will Zalatoris, Collin Morikawa, Patrick Cantlay and more.

ā€œVolunteers are essential to the success of the event,ā€ said Andy McDowell, executive director of the Procore Championship. ā€œTheir dedication and hard work are vital, and we are grateful for their support. Itā€™s a great opportunity to get a behind the scenes view of what it takes to put on a professional sporting event in our backyard. We encourage anyone who is passionate about serving and supporting the Napa Valley community to sign up.ā€

Volunteers at the Napa Valley Golf Championship work in tandem with the tournament team and PGA TOUR personnel to assist with several aspects of the tournament, including gallery management, hospitality, greeters/tickets and spotters. Volunteers can sign up to help on one of approximately 20 committees. Previous experience or knowledge of golf are not needed.

Committees seeking volunteers include the hospitality committee, which asks volunteers to assist with checking for proper credentials, greeting guests, and providing information as needed; the supply and distribution committee, which involves distributing spectator guides and pairings sheets on competition days prior to the start of play, ensuring all player coolers at each tee are stocked with refreshments, and stocking tournament fridges each day prior to play; and the gallery management ambassador committee, which asks volunteers to manage gallery noise and traffic, ensure the safety of guests by reinforcing health and safety policies and provide a world-class guest experience.

In addition to a one-of-a-kind behind-the-scenes experience watching PGA TOUR stars compete, volunteers each receive a branded uniform, including a polo, jacket and hat, in addition to other appreciation pieces included in the registration fee.

Beyond the eventā€™s operational success, volunteers are also a driving force in enabling the Procore Championship to help the PGA TOUR surpass $3 billion in lifetime charitable giving. The tournament has raised over $9 million for charity since the tournament moved to Napa in 2014. Some of the charities that benefited from the 2023 tournament include Ole Health, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Napa Valley, the Cameron Champ Foundation, First Tee of Sonoma Coast, Queen of the Valley Foundation, Jameson Humane, Napa Valley Community Foundation, and Travis Air Force Base Reserves.

The Procore Championship, an official PGA TOUR event, takes place Sept. 12ā€“15, 2024 at Silverado Resort in Napa. For more information on committee descriptions and to sign up visit www.procorechampionship.com
