The Spartans are one of 10 teams participating in the tournament – Brigham Young, California, Colorado, Gonzaga, Oregon State, Pepperdine, San Francisco, San José State, Santa Clara and UCLA.

San José State is one of two participating teams ranked in the top-10 of the Mizuno WGCA Coaches Poll Preseason Rankings. The Spartans were selected ninth after returning four of the five players that played at the 2022 NCAA Championships and won the 2022 Mountain West Championship. UCLA was selected fifth in the poll as well.

This season, the San José State women’s golf program is participating in the Fold of Honor Military Tribute Program. The Spartans will carry a golf bag in honor of 2nd Lt Travis A. Morgado who was from San Jose. His life was cut short during active duty in Zharay, Afghanistan, from injuries sustained when insurgents attacked his patrol with an improvised explosive device (May 23, 2012). He also has connections to San José State as his maternal grandparents and an aunt are Spartan alumni.

For the first tournament, Antonia Malate has the honor of carrying this special bag in honor of 2nd Lt. Travis Morgado.
