Sunshine Saloon (Pleasanton)
The Shine is an institution in the Tri-Valley area. Bob Rossi has owned the place for over 30 years and has seen the Saloon transition into a destination spot for sports viewing.
Sunshine has 23 flat screens and four 8-foot projection screens. They have both Direct TV as well as Comcast, meaning they have virtually every major sport available.
The Shine has packages for the NFL, NHL and NBA. In addition they have the Pac 12 Network, allowing for all the bases to be covered professional or collegiate.
They will make an effort to show any college football game that is broadcast but it is recommend to call in advance to verify they can find your game of choice.
On Sundays during football season, Sunshine opens at 9 a.m. and offers a full breakfast that comes with your first drink included. The place fills up each week so plan on coming early.
Obviously it is a hangout of Raiders and 49ers fans, but groups of Seahawks and Patriot fans have been known to hang out as well.
Outside of the sporting world, the Sunshine Saloon is a very popular hangout. The backroom alone features beer pong, shuffleboard, air-hockey and ping pong tables.
Free wireless is available if you need to manage your fantasy team.
