The Tour heads to La Jolla and Torrey Pines for the Farmers Insurance Open this week.
It also marks the return of Brooks Koepka to the PGA Tour as one of golf’s more popular players has left the LIV Tour – the first former PGA Tour player to do so.
After a week in the desert and the birdie-fest that is the American Express, part of the West Coast Swing but is inland, not sitting on the coast. The players face a much tougher golf test on the North and South courses at Torrey Pines, the air is heavier this time of the year and they don’t get the roll out like they do when the U.S. Open has been held at Torrey.
The defending champion is Harris English with an eight-under score. Last week at the American Express we saw Scottie Sheffler win another tournament, posting a winning score of 27-under par.
Koepka, who has pair of U.S. Open titles, as well as three PGA championships, will play the first 36 holes with Max Homa and Ludvig.
The groups will play once on each course, then the final two rounds on the South course, the course that has hosted two U.S. Open championships.
