22nd annual Young Life tourney Oct. 28 at Castlewood

Young Life of the Tri-Valley will hold its 22nd annual benefit golf tournament Monday, Oct. 28 on the hill course of the Castlewood Country Club in Pleasanton

The organization serves middle school and high school students to share Jesus Christ and help participants grow in their faith. Chapters meet weekly during the school year and offer camping programs in the summer.

The website reads, “Young Life doesn’t start with a program. It starts with adults concerned enough about kids to go to them, on their turf and in their culture, building bridges of authentic friendship. These relationships don’t happen overnight — they take time, patience, trust and consistency.

“So Young Life leaders log many hours with kids around the world — where they are, as they are… We listen to their stories and learn what’s important to them because we genuinely care about their joys, triumphs, heartaches and setbacks.

“We believe in the power of presence. Kids’ lives are dramatically impacted when caring adults come alongside them, sharing God’s love with them. Because their leader believes in them, they begin to see that their lives have great worth, meaning and purpose.”

All proceeds from the tournament will support Young Life in the Tri-Valley.

A variety of sponsorship packages are available as well as sponsorships for the goodie bags, dinner, and hole-in-one. Individual golfers can register for $250 and there are sponsorship golfer packages ranging from $650 for two to $1,000 for two to $2,000 for a foursome.
