It’s been a couple of years, but the Alameda County Fair horse racing meet is back in full force in conjunction with the Alameda County Fair!
The Fair is set for June 17-July 10, with horse racing taking place Friday-Sunday of each week and Monday, July 4.
The Fair is closed Monday and Tuesday of each week, once again except for Monday, July 4.
There are 13 days of racing this year with the post time set for 1:45 p.m. each day.
California Fair horse racing is vital for the sport and is the best way to form a grassroots movement, bringing many their first live horse racing experience.
I am happy to announce that I will once again be back as one of the hosts for the Daily Handicapping Seminars, that take place at 12 noon each day of racing
I will be co-hosting the seminars with track announcer Craig Braddick, who returns after making his debut in 2021. We will be joined on Saturday and Sunday by handicapper/personality Andrew Champagne.
Each day we will go through the race card, offering our selections and our reasoning for the picks. Once again, it is a fully interactive seminar, where questions are encouraged. My daily picks will be listed at www.acesgolf.com, as well as on my social media outlets! Picks will also be posted on Fair sites still to be determined.
On Friday and Saturday each week, the seminars will be back on the popular stage outside the Grandstand where it has traditionally been held in the past during the Fair. Locations for Sunday will be announced soon.
We have three stakes races this year. The She’s A Tiger is set for June 25, the Oak Tree Sprint on July 2, and the Everett Nevin will run on July 9.
There will be a Brew Fest on Saturday, June 18, and a Wine Fest on July 2. Both events will run from 2-5 p.m. in the Grandstand area.
There is also a Fireworks show scheduled for Friday, July 1 at 9:45 p.m. There are no fireworks on July 4.
This year it will be a Digital Grandstand where customers will be using credit cards or mobile devices to pay for food and beverages. Pre-order your tickets and parking passes online.
Seating options include Trackside Terrace Patio Dining, Sky Lounge at the Track, Season Box Seat Holder. Access to the Grandstand area is free with a general admission fair ticket.
