Courtesy of the Bob St. Laurent Charity Golf Classic, Vintners Golf Course in Yountville, CA, came alive with the sound of music. So to speak.
The 2nd annual event recently attracted 52 Bay Area golfers to compete in the 9-hole scramble event and post-round party at Feast it Forward, located in the Oxbow District of downtown Napa, all to benefit The Napa Valley Education Foundation (NVEF) and the Napa High Music Program through Gibson Gives.
“The goal for this year’s event is to put guitars in the hands of the kids who need them most,” says event founder and local media personality, St. Laurent. “When I approached Feast it Forward Founder Katie Hamilton Shaffer to collaborate for an elevated event, we thought it made sense to support her longtime sponsor Gibson Guitar with a goal to fill Napa and Vintage High music programs with everything they need to keep music alive in the classroom. From Guitars, to strings and keys, we are making a tangible, positive contribution to keep Musicians alive in the Napa Valley!”
Much like golf, the arts come in many forms and motivate youth to go to school with a passion and St. Laurent, with support from local sponsors, is continuing his efforts to provide young musicians a chance to make music to their ears!
