The 12th-ranked San José State women’s golf team begins the spring season this week at the Lamkin Invitational hosted by San Diego State on Monday and Tuesday. The 54-hole tournament will be played at The Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., 22 miles north of downtown San Diego.
The Spartans will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday, both days beginning with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. SJSU will play with San Diego State and Stanford on Monday.

- The 14-team tournament features nine teams in the top-25 of the latest Golfstat rankings, led by top-ranked Stanford. Other participating teams are No. 13 Arizona, No 18 Arizona State, California, Colorado, Kansas, No. 20 Ole Miss, No. 4 Oregon, Pepperdine, San Diego State, No. 12 San José State, No. 11Texas, No. 14 UCLA and No. 23 USC.
- San José State is the only non-Power 5 team ranked in the top-20 of the Golfstat rankings.
- The Spartans have been busy since finishing the fall semester with a second-place finish at the Stanford Invitational.
- Kajsa Arwefjäll represented Sweden at The Spirit Invitational and helped the team to a third place finish.
- Natasha Andrea Oon graduated in December with her degree in business administration.
- The Spartans recorded a 3.78 team grade point average in the fall.
- Oon and Antonia Malate received and accepted invitations to play at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur, March 30-April 2.
