The California Craft Brewers Association (CCBA) announced more than 800 craft breweries are now in operation across the state. The industry reaches this historic milestone as CCBA announces its annual showcase of California’s booming craft beer industry, the California Craft Beer Summit and Beer Festival, returns to Sacramento for its third year.
The event brings owners and representatives from more than 200 breweries into the city to celebrate the growing craft beer community. The Summit takes place September 7-9, 2017 in Sacramento, California.
“California continues to lead the nation’s craft beer movement and the Summit showcases the wild success of a community united over a common passion: the art and science of brewing exceptional craft beer,” began Tom McCormick, executive director of the CCBA. “CCBA’s signature event is the ultimate opportunity for craft beer enthusiasts to join the tribe, learn from brewers and industry experts across the Golden State and taste the creativity and passion that serves as the foundation of the industry.”
Reigning as the largest California-brewed craft beer event of its kind, the 2017 Craft Beer Summit provides two days of industry trade show and education, with 26 educational sessions, 65,000 feet of interactive displays and “TapTalks” with industry leaders.
The third day of the event ends with the largest craft beer tasting in California, featuring nearly 160 breweries from all over the state, lined up in front of California’s Capitol. In 2016 the Summit gathered more than 6,000 industry members and craft beer lovers to Sacramento, with nearly half of the attendees coming from other regions of the state.
Keynote Speakers the Summit feature key brewers, chefs and industry innovators, including:
- Ken Grossman, Sierra Nevada
- David Walker, Firestone Walker
- Charlie Papzian, founder of American homebrewing
- Jay Goodwin, The Rare Barrel
“The Summit has become one of the largest and most significant craft beer events not only in California but across the nation,” began Natalie Cilurzo, co-owner of Russian River Brewing Company and President of the CCBA Board of Directors. “The unique part about the Summit is that it brings together brewers, retailers, wholesalers, suppliers, and consumers all in one location, something I have not experienced to this level at any other event. I’m proud to be a part of this incredible state trade association and the third annual Summit.”
Early bird tickets packages are available May 9 through July 10, 2017 and include single-day Summit entry or full weekend packages. Detailed ticketing information can be found online: https://cacraftbeersummit.eventbrite.com and run
