The Thoroughbred Owners of California (TOC) will be holding a seminar on “Essentials of Thoroughbred Ownership,” this Thursday, June 22 at the Alameda County Fair.
The seminar will take place on the Grandstand Stage at the Fair, located right outside the racing grandstands from 2-4 p.m.
Enjoy a panel discussion will focus on:
- Ownership experience
- Acquiring Thoroughbreds
- Race day insights
- Aftercare
- Horse conformation
After the panel discussion there will be time for questions, followed by a tour of the paddock and the winner’s circle.
The following people will be involved in the panel: Johnny Taboada (owner), Simon Hobson (trainer), Matilda Burnham (jockey, and Emma Gurnick (aftercare liaison). Horse racing publicist/handicapper Dennis Miller will be the moderator for the event.
Wayne Atwell, the Northern California Director of Operations for the TOC will conduct the paddock and winner’s circle tours.
Prospective and existing owners welcome, TOC membership encouraged but not required. Parking and admission free with a CHRB license.
