The Safeway Open and Lagardère Sports announced today that the Safeway Open PGA TOUR event played at Silverado Resort and Spa this October 5-8 will again feature a concert series with three consecutive nights of music after golf, featuring multi-platinum singer-songwriter Gavin DeGraw.
The Safeway Open and Safeway Open Concert Series will provide fans with an authentic Napa experience bringing together world-renowned local chefs and wineries, popular musicians and the worldâs best golfers all on one stage.
âLast year was our first year featuring a three-night concert series at the Safeway Open and it was a big success,â said Jeff Sanders, Executive Director of the Safeway Open. âThe fans had a great time, even in the rain. This year we will have amazing bands and perfect Napa weather!â
In 2016, the Safeway Open Concert Series featured X Ambassadors, Charles Kelley from Lady Antebellum and Third Eye Blind, each performing on the Mansion Lawn in front of Silverado Resort and Spa. The shows were well attended despite unseasonably rainy weather for October in Napa.
This year the shows will again be held on the Mansion Lawn immediately following completion of the golf tournament Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. DeGraw will kick off the concert series Thursday night Oct. 5 at 6:30 p.m. The two additional bands performing on Friday and Saturday nights as part of the concert series will be announced in the coming weeks.
âLooking forward to getting back to Napa and performing at the Safeway Open,â said DeGraw. âMaybe I can teach the players a thing or two!â
Daily tickets to the Safeway Open PGA TOUR event are on sale now and include admission to the Safeway Open Concert Series, the 27,000-square foot Safeway Food and Wine Pavilion and on-site food, wine, beer and spirits venues.
The event is in its second year with Safeway as the title sponsor and hosts many of the best golfers in the world as they compete for a $6.2 million-dollar purse with $1.116 million to the winner, Thursday through Sunday. In 2016 the field of 144 golfers included elite players such as Phil Mickelson, Matt Kuchar, Justin Thomas, Webb Simpson and Paul Casey.
