Leadbetter’s search for new ‘Stay at Home’ Golf Coaches

Legendary golf instructor David Leadbetter is offering free coach training to ‘stay at home’ parents as part of a worldwide campaign to recruit honorary parent-coaches to join the Leadbetter Golf Academy team.

Parents who complete the 2-hour education course will receive certified status as Leadbetter Kids Parent-Coaches and will receive access to specially designed games and exercises for golf at home with children. Parent-coaches will also have access to live online support from Leadbetter’s network of certified golf coaches.

David Leadbetter said, “There will be some special conditions Leadbetter Parent-Coaches will have to agree to. They must be willing to work with children and are only allowed to coach from home…for now!”

Leadbetter continues, “We wanted to do something to help parents who are looking for ways to entertain and educate their children. The learning doesn’t have to stop just because we don’t have access to golf courses right now. We know that with a little guidance and imagination, parents can have a huge impact on helping their children to learn golf at home.”

Leadbetter’s Parent-Coach certification has been developed as part of Leadbetter Kids – an initiative established to provide quality education to coaches on how to teach young children to play golf though sound fundamentals, fitness and life skills.

“It’s not fair to assume parents know how to teach golf at home to their children. The Leadbetter Kids Parent-Coach course will educate parents to understand the principals of teaching golf to children at home in a fun and engaging way.” Gavin Grenville-Wood, Head of Junior Education, Leadbetter Golf Academy.

Parents can enroll through Golfzon Leadbetter University – Leadbetter’s online golf education platform – that provides a range of training courses to coaches and golfers alike, using innovative new eLearning programs.
