Lessons with Todd Fischer take a new direction – course management!

It’s no secret that to get better in the game of golf, you must hit the driving range and pound balls.

It can be cathartic to hit balls, but it can also get monotonous. The end game is to find a consistent swing, as well as dial in your yardage for each club.

Consistency with your swing, as well as firm knowledge of how far you can hit each club is a tremendous start to lowering your score on the course.

But is it enough?

“You can get complacent on the range,” said PGA Professional Todd Fischer, who was the expert on KPIX CBS 5 talking about the PGA Tour and LIV merger this week. “You’re hitting in the same spot, and you can start to get too comfortable.”

Fischer, a former regular of the PGA Tour, has been expanding his lessons at the driving range to on the course, offering a whole new experience.

Fischer recently missed qualifying for the U.S. Senior Open by just two shots, is looking to give golfers the total lessons perspective.

“You’re not going to hit too many perfect shots in a round so on the course it has to be about controlling your misses,” said Fischer who has qualifying coming up for the Senior British Open. “I can help with their scoring. This is something that can help all levels of play. It really works for guys who are 10-12 handicappers that are stuck and can’t seem to consistently go lower.”

In his seasons on the PGA Tour, Fischer was never amongst the leaders in terms of driving distance, but from tee to green he was elite as his course management, iron play, and putting always made him a threat each time he teed it up.

The going rate for lessons with Fischer are $150 for an hour on the range, or $300 for a 9-hole playing lesson. The playing lessons take place at The Club at Castlewood, and included are the green fees.

Fischer will also be getting involved with EntreeVIP, a new business that will provide customers with one-on-one VIP access to share activities that their favorite athlete or celebrity are passionate about.

For Fischer’s fans this may include something like two rounds of golf at Montreux Country Club, dinner, and hotel for the night at a spot like the El Dorado in Reno.
