Talk about an embarrassment of riches.
The San Jose State women’s’ golf team completed its wire-to-wire demolition of the Mountain West conference, laying waste to the field and winning by 30 shots as the tournament wrapped up Wednesday.
The No. 5 ranked Spartans finished as the lone team under-par, finishing the 54-hole tournament at the Dinah Shore Tournament Course at the Mission Hills Country Club at the team score of 4-under.
New Mexico was second at 26-over, and Fresno State was third at 27-over.
For good measure the Spartans took the top three spots in the individual portion of the tournament.
Natasha Andrea Oon also went wire-to-wire, winning the tournament with a 10-under score. Lucia Lopez-Ortega was the only other person under par, finishing second at 3-under.
Kajsa Arwefjall rounded out the top three for SJSU, finishing tied for third with an even-par score. Lauren Lehigh of New Mexico was also at even-par.
