The San José State women’s golf team competes at the 2026 Credit Union 1 Mountain West this Tuesday through Thursday, April 21-23, at the Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif.
The 51st-ranked Spartans enter the tournament as the top-seeded team and begin play Tuesday with Grand Canyon at 7 a.m. The 10 teams competing for the trophy will play 18 holes each day. Tee times for Wednesday and Thursday will be determined by placings after each round.
San José State won the team championship in 2022 and 2024, and three Spartans have won the individual title. Former Spartan Natasha Andrea Oon shot the lowest individual round with a 65 in 2022 and won the title that year by seven strokes. San José State won the 2022 team championship by a record-setting 30 strokes.
Last year, the Spartans were tied with UNLV after three rounds of play at 18-over 882. The two teams went to a playoff, where UNLV won on the second hole. Former Spartan Lucia Lopez Ortega won the individual championship, shooting 69s in the first and third rounds and finishing at 5-under 211.
