SJSU Women’s Golfers Sweep Mountain West Honors, Four Named to First Team

For the second time in four seasons, the fifth-ranked San José State women’s golf team swept the Mountain West postseason honors and placed four players on the All-MW first team.

Natasha Andrea Oon has been named the MW Player of the Year for the second time in three years, while freshman Lucia Lopez Ortega is the MW Freshman of the Year. Spartan head coach Dana Dormann adds to her trophy case as she is the MW Coach of the Year for the second time (2019 & 2022).

The Spartans also placed four on the first team All-MW – Oon, Lopez Ortega, Kajsa Arwefjäll and Antonia Malate. The four players from one school are the most on the first team since 2006 when UNLV placed four players on an eight-player team.

Five top-five finishes this season
Has recorded 20 rounds of par or better – 14 rounds under par and six rounds of par
Third first team All-MW honor and was the 2019-20 MW Player of the Year
Chosen for the Arnold Palmer Cup as part of the international team

Currently has a 73.00 stroke average
Finished in the top-five in three of the five spring tournaments
Placed fourth at the Juli Inkster at Meadow Club Invitational at 6-under 210
Made a hole-in-one on the par-3, #11 hole at the Juli Inkster at Meadow Club Invitational
