Natasha Andrea Oon and Lucia Lopez Ortega have been honored as the Mountain West Women’s Golfer and Freshman of the Week, respectively, after their impressive performances over the weekend at the MountainView Collegiate.
Natasha Andrea Oon
- Finished second at the MountainView Collegiate as she shot a 9-under 207
- Shot 67-68-72 for the three rounds
- Tied for second in the in birdies made with 15
- Led the Spartans to a second-place finish, one shot behind Texas Tech and ahead of No. 5 Oklahom and No. 6 Florida.
- Helped the Spartans set a school record for 54-hole scoring a -24, 840
- SJSU tied the low-round record with a -13, 285 in the second round.
Lucia Lopez Ortega
- Finished tied for third at the MountainView Collegiate at 8-under, 208
- Second consecutive tournament to finish in the top-five
- Shot 68-69-71 for her three rounds
- Tied for fifth in the field in birdies made with 14 and tied for 13th in pars made with 36
- Helped the Spartans to a second-place finish, one shot behind Texas Tech and ahead of No. 5 Oklahom and No. 6 Florida.
