This is a new feature for us and one you will see each week from ACES!
It’s called “Where is the PGA Tour this week.” We will let you know where the PGA Tour is playing, who are the players to watch, and maybe a brief history of the event.
This week the Tour is in the Desert for the American Express in the Palm Springs area. There are three courses used for the event, with the cutline being set after the third round.
Traditionally, the tournament is one of the lowest scoring tournaments over the course of the year, with the winning score usually at least 20-under par.
Last year Sepp Straka was the winner with a total of 25-under par. Justin Thomas was second at 23-under par and the cutline was amazing 8-under.
There are nine of the top 20 ranked players in the OWGR rankings.
Two obvious players to watch this week are Scottie Sheffler – the top ranked player in the world, and Patrick Cantlay, a California native who always plays well at the tournament.
Cantlay was fifth last year, shooting 20-under for the tournament.
