Where’s the PGA Tour this week?

“Where is the PGA Tour this week”

Usually, the week after a major is a down week for a tournament for a variety of reasons.

Players want a break from physical and mental wear after a major tournament. Rory McIlroy is not playing this week and he’s probably still hungover from his much-deserved victory party after his Masters win.

But other than McIlroy, the RBC Heritage is a talented field, as it is the fourth PGA Tour Signature Event and it’s played at the wonderful Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head Island in South Carolina.

There is no cut in this event.

Harbour Town Golf Links, par 71, 7,213 yards. The iconic Pete Dye/Jack Nicklaus design – lengthened slightly in 2024 – has hosted the RBC Heritage since the 1960s. It continues to challenge the best golfers in the world with its tight fairways, strategically placed bunkers and small, contoured putting surfaces.

Justin Thomas is the defending champion, winning in a playoff last year for his first win since the 2022 PGA Championship.

Thomas showed some signs of life last week finishing 41st in the Masters as his game continues to improve after a lengthy break following microdiscectomy surgery in December of 2025.

Thomas will be paired with Ludvig Aberg, a young player that has been anointed as a future multiple major champ but just seems to do each week of a major not to contend.

Here are some of the other featured groups this week.

Scottie Sheffler/Mathew Fitzpatrick: Scheffler looks for fire back after his one-shot loss to McIlroy in the Masters.

Tommy Fleetwood/Sam Burns: Two players that flirted with the leaderboard at the Masters.

Xander Schauffele/Russell Henley: I really like Henley’s game and at one point Sunday during the final round that Henley would get in a post a final score that was going to put pressure on the final groups.

Cameron Young/Jordan Spieth: Power/finesse matchup of one of the games biggest hitters in Young, and Spieth whose touch and short game are among the best.

The tournament will be televised Thursday-Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Golf Channel. Saturday and Sunday the coverage will be from 10 a.m.-12 noon on the Golf Channel, then 12 noon-3 p.m. on CBS.
