Where’s the PGA Tour this week?

Time for a change of pace this week as the PGA Tour heads to New Orleans for their yearly team event in the Zurich Classic.

Two-man teams will use an alternating-round Four-Ball and Foursomes format. The first and third rounds will be Four-ball and the second and final rounds will be Foursomes.

These popular formats are the same as used during the Ryder Cup and the Presidents Cup.

In Foursomes the players rotate tee shots, then alternate shots from there until the hole is finished. For instance, Player A tees off, then Player B hits the second shot, then Player A hits the third shot, etc.

One player will hit the tee shots on the odd numbered holes and the other on the even numbered holes.

In Four-Ball, the players will play their own ball throughout the hole, and the team will take the lowest score of the two balls.

The tournament will be played at the TPC Louisiana, a course known as a course that can be had for low scoring.

The field consists of 80 teams (160 players), with the players choosing their own partner.

Brooks Koepka is back and is partnered with former Zurich champion Shane Lowry. The defending champions are Ben Griffin and Andrew Novak in a tournament where it’s not the most loaded field, but the format is great to tune in to check it out.

The tournament can be watched on Thursday and Friday from 12 noon to 3 p.m. on the Golf Channel. Saturday and Sunday the coverage will be on 10 a.m.-12 noon on the Golf Channel, then 12 noon-3 p.m. on CBS and Paramount Plus.
