SJSU Women Finish 9th, Lopez Ortega T6th at Chevron Silverado Showdown

Lucia Lopez Ortega shot a four-under 68 in the final round of the Chevron Silverado Showcase to finish tied for sixth in the individual standings and help the San José State women’s golf team finish ninth at the tournament held at the Silverado Country Club and Resort.

  • Lopez Ortega recorded her second top-10 finish of the season at three-under 213, making six birdies and eight pars during the round.
  • She made 14 birdies over her three rounds to tie for the second-most birdies made in the field. She played the par-5 holes at 5-under for the three rounds, tying for the third-best score on those holes.
  • Moa Andersson finished tied for 28th at 5-over 221 after shooting a 74 in the final round.
  • Nicola Kaminski shot her second consecutive 73 to finish tied for 39th at 8-over 224.
  • Rebecca Gyllner tied for 69th at 17-over 233, after shooting a 79 on Wednesday.
  • Isabella Cioe shot an 80 to finish 84th at 25-over 241.
  • Tessa Kremser, playing as an individual, shot her best round with a 77 and tied for 85th at 242.
  • The Spartans recorded a 6-over 294 in the final round to finish ninth at 26-over 890, three shots better than Oregon State.
