Natasha Andrea Oon and Lucia Lopez Ortega finished the first round in the top-five individually as the fifth-ranked San José State women’s golf team opened play by shooting a 10-over 294 at the NCAA Ann Arbor Regional Monday on the par-71 U-M Golf Course.
- Oon led the Spartans with a one-under 70 and is tied for third place, one shot behind two players in first.
- She was 2-under for her final 10 holes, making eight pars and birdies on holes 15 and 16.
- Lucia Lopez Garcia shot a 1-over 72 and is tied for fifth place. She was even through her first nine holes, starting her round with a bogey but then making a birdie on No. 6 and seven other pars.
- Antonia Malate is tied for 23rd at 3-over 74. Her only birdie of the round came on the par-4, 308-yard No. 6.
- Kajsa Arwefjäll and Louisa Carlbom each shot a 7-over 78 and are tied for 47th. Arwefjäll recorded 11 pars and no birdies for her round, while Carlbom had a birdie on the par-4 seventh hole.
