- J. Spaun led the field this week in total feet of putts made (401.5 feet). His 64-foot, 5 inch make on the final hole was the longest by any player on any hole this week.
- J. Spaun shot 32 (-3) on the inward nine on Sunday. That is the second-best final nine holes by a U.S. Open champion at Oakmont. Johnny Miller shot 31 on the final nine holes of the 1973 championship.
- Spaun is the fifth player to win the U.S. Open and birdie each of the final two holes of the championship, joining Ben Hogan (1953, Oakmont), Jack Nicklaus (1980, Baltusrol), Tom Watson (1982, Pebble Beach) and Jon Rahm (2021, Torrey Pines).
- Spaun had the most inauspicious final round start by an eventual U.S. Open champion, becoming the first winner ever to bogey (or worse) each of his first three holes in the final round.
- This year marks just the fourth time this century (since 2000) that the U.S. Open champion was the only player to finish under par (Spaun shot 279, one-under par). That also happened in 2000 (Tiger Woods at Pebble Beach, -12), 2002 (Tiger Woods at Bethpage Black, -3) and 2020 (Bryson DeChambeau at Winged Foot, -6).
- Robert MacIntyre (runner-up) matches the best U.S. Open finish by a left-swinging player. Phil Mickelson finished second (outright or tied) six times; and Brian Harman finished T-2 at Erin Hills in 2017.
- Scottie Scheffler (73-71-70-70) has failed to break par in each of his last nine rounds at the U.S. Open, dating back to the final round of the 2023 championship at Los Angeles CC.
- Carlos Ortiz (T—4), had the best finish ever in a major championship by a player representing Mexico, besting Abraham Ancer who finished T-8 at the 2021 PGA
Championship at Kiawah Island
- Xander Schauffele (T-12) finished among the top 15 for the ninth U.S. Open in a row. The only players with as long a streak as Schauffele’s since 1920 are Jack Nicklaus (12, 1971- 1982), Ben Hogan (12, 1940-1956), Bobby Jones (11, 1920-1930) and Sam Snead (9, 19471955).
- Each of the last 11 majors has been won by a player who was either first or second on the 54-hole leader board. Spaun was T-2 entering today’s final round.
