Bay Area baseball fan favorite, Vida Blue, is pitching in with PGA Champions Tour player, Bobby Clampett and World Long Drive Champion, Eric Jones at the 6th annual Michael Murphy’s Golf in the Kingdom Marathon (GKM), September 11-12, 2016 at Peacock Gap GC in San Rafael, California.

The 1971 Cy Young Award-winner and former pitcher with the Oakland A’s and San Francisco Giants will join golfers at a benefit for ITP International, a non profit organization that stewards the groundbreaking work of Golf in the Kingdom author, Michael Murphy and human potential visionary George Leonard. This golf event helps celebrate human potential through sports while refining your inner golf game.

“Michael Murphy’s Golf in the Kingdom Marathon offers participants a chance to give back to the world while doing something they love – play golf,” says Barry Robbins, Vice President at ITP International. “Golfers can expect the unexpected throughout the course, including putting one green while blindfolded. This is a mystery school wrapped around a golf event.”

Designed for people with busy lives, Integral Transformative Practice® helps to cultivate high-performance, creative problem solving and a balanced approach to daily life, attributes shared by some of Murphy’s colleagues, including Bill Walsh (3 Super Bowls) and Pete Carroll (1 college football championship/1 Super Bowl).

Guests at Sunday’s Golfing in the Zone Clinic, led by Clampett and Jones, will have the opportunity to learn new perspectives on connecting club and ball for better results as well as experience pioneering transformative practices for improving performance on the greens and in life.

Monday’s schedule kicks off at 9:00 a.m. with registration, followed by an event overview and demo, mini clinic and shotgun scramble starting at 11:30 a.m. Players will have a chance to play with a pro and compete in contests for the winning team, longest drive, closest to pin and hole-in-one with a $25,000 cash prize. The day will conclude with a reception, live auction and awards banquet.

Proceeds benefits ITP International and the Junior (SF) Giants, a charity serving over 22,000 at-risk boys and girls in Northern California. The registration fee for the two-day event is $450. Separately, the fee to participate in Monday’s Golf in the Kingdom Marathon is $350, and $200 for Sunday’s Golfing in the Zone Clinic.
