Where is the PGA Tour this week?

And just like that, the West Coast Swing of the PGA Tour is done.

That means we are off for Florida and the Cognizant Classic at the PGA National Resort.

The defending champion is Joe Highsmith who won the event at 19-under last year, beating J. J. Spaun and Jacob Bridgeman by two shots each.

Given the grind of the West Coast Swing, combined with the upcoming schedule of the Arnold Palmer at Bay Hill, followed by the Players, many of the top golfers have opted out of playing this week.

In fact, Ryan Gerard at No. 7 is the top ranked golfer in the FedEx standings and is the highest ranked in the Official World Golf Rankings at No. 26.

Notables in the field include Brooks Koepka, Shane Lowry, and Max Homa.

This is a tournament where anyone suffering from Aquaphobia probably should take the tournament off as water is in play on 15 of the 18 holes.

The course is known for the three-hole stretch known as the “Bear Trap,” which includes holes 15-17.

The television schedule is Thursday-Friday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on the Golf Channel. Saturday and Sunday we will see coverage from 10 a.m.-12 noon on the Golf Channel, then 12 noon to 3 p.m. on NBC.
