Opening day of the Golf the High Sierra Media trip is in the books as I have returned to my room at the Eldorado in downtown Reno from a wonderful opening night reception at Montreux Country Club.
I have to admit in the past, Montreux has not been the most media friendly site, but that has all changed over the last few years. It is a stunning property and is now matched with a stunning group of employees who welcomes us like members.
And when you have two story houses that are brand new and breathtaking that are going for all of $1.5 million – you hear that Bay Area, $1.5 million – it’s hard not to be taken aback. For what you can get a two bedroom townhouse in many areas in Northern California, the pricing structure is enticing.
Another highlight of the night was the ability to taste – oh what the heck, drink, not taste – some wine from the famed Sonoma County farming family, the Stornetta’s. The wine was very good and the conversation with Matt Stornetta was great.
One final thing from opening day is a shout out to the Eldorado. My favorite property in Reno is always consistent from the valet staff through the front desk and everyone else. I love staying at the ElDo and highly recommend it to all!!
Well time for bed as it is an early call tomorrow for 36 holes of golf at Genoa Lakes and Clear Creek! Back tomorrow!
