For the 29th time in school history, the San José State women’s golf team will play at an NCAA Regional as the Spartans are the No. 8 seed at the Golf Canyon Regional to be played at the Superstition Mountain Golf and Club in Golf Canyon, Ariz., May 5-7.
The six regions feature 12 teams and six individuals competing. The top-five teams and top individual, not on an advancing team, in each region will advance to the NCAA Championships, May 16-21, at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
The other five regionals will be played in Charlottesville, VA (Birdwood Golf Course), Columbus, Ohio (OSU Golf Club – Scarlet Course), Lexington, Ky. (Keene Trace Golf Club), Lubbock, Texas (The Rawls Course) and Norman, Okla. (Jimmie Austin Golf Club).
The Spartans have won three national championships – 1987, 1989 and 1992. The program has played at the national championships four times in the past five championships held – 2019 (Fayetteville, Ark.), 2022 and 2023 (Scottsdale, Ariz.) and 2024 (Carlsbad, Calif.)
Golf Canyon Regional Site
The Golf Canyon Regional will be played at the Superstition Mountain Golf and Country Club in Golf Canyon, Ariz., and will be hosted by Arizona State University.
