Reno has become a go-to destination for golf during the season, offering some quality local courses, while featuring some world class tracks within an easy 20-30-minute drive from downtown Reno.
The Silver Legacy and Eldorado have certainly established themselves as a go-to location to stay and assist with your plans for the golf trips.
But what about the winter months? If you’ve become comfortable with the area and love the affordable accommodations, great gambling and wonderful nightlife, but know during the winter months you realize bringing along the sticks would be futile.
Never worry – the family at the Silver Legacy, ElDorado and Circus Circus, all at The Row – the anchors of downtown Reno – have the answer – Topgolf Swing Suites.
Based on ever-growing and popular outdoor Topgolf locations that are growing seemingly as rapidly as Starbucks. The Suites are all virtual reality where you hit into a screen.
The concept remains the same, comfortable areas where a group enjoys seating, TV’s with personal service offering everything from typical array of cocktails and food all the way up to bottle service.
I think it would be a success if it was just a simulation of the Topgolf games, shooting at targets for points. The game has become very popular and having played both the real Topgolf as well as the simulation, it works for both.
The Suites offer much more.
In addition to the Topgolf games there are chances to both play a closest to the pin on several courses, as well as play 18 at a multitude of courses, including Pebble Beach.
Tired of golf? There are also simulations for football, baseball, hockey, soccer, basketball and even Zombie Dodgeball. We tried all of them and let me say, if you play soccer or dodge ball, prepare to work up a sweat.
Much like the onsite Topgolf locations, the Suites are a place to hang put whether your playing in one of the bays or not. We were there on a Thursday night and the bar area – as well as the bays – produced a festive atmosphere. In fact, there was a deal offering a wristband that got you all the adult beverages you could handle during the football game and the cost was only $15.
There are 18 seats available at the bar, as well as 120 other seats available in the lounge. There are 17 large HDTV’s as well. It’s a party!
The hourly pricing starts at $50 per hour per suit for up to eight players. There is a Happy Hour price of $35 per hour Wednesday through Sunday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Private groups can be accommodated seven days a week and the venue it available for full or half buyout.
There is also a Private VIP room with a full-service bar available.
It’s a great social activity in a casino in Reno, but it’s also a viable family option as there is no age restrictions until 9 p.m. when it goes to 21-and-older.
The next time you are in Reno and staying at either the Silver Legacy or El Dorado – and why would you stay anywhere else – make sure to make a visit to the Topgolf Suites. It’s a great experience and a tremendous way to start the night off.
