5th Annual Desert Patriot Tourney set for Mission Hills Resort

The Westin Mission Hills Resort and Spa will host the 5th Annual Desert Patriot Tournament on Nov. 9 on its Gary Player-designed course.

The Veteran’s Day weekend event will benefit Folds of Honor, a foundation that helps children and spouses of fallen and disabled service members.

Tournament organizers welcome golfers and sponsors who want to support service members. In addition to playing, donors can sponsor active-duty military members to participate in the event. Between 30 and 40 active duty members participate in the annual event thanks to sponsorships.

Each four-member team will be paired with one active-duty military member. The format will be a dropout scramble with the person whose shot is selected sitting out the next shot.

Registration for the event is $175 per player.

Mission Hills offers two championship courses—the Pete Dye-designed resort course on site and the Gary Player course located a short distance away. The 512-room, four-diamond resort is located in Rancho Mirage and spreads over 365 acres. There are seven tennis courts, three swimming pools, a 75-foot waterslide and seven lighted tennis courts on site.
