The California men’s golf team’s 2022-23 schedule was unveiled Friday, featuring 11 total regular-season competitions throughout the fall and spring seasons. In addition to hosting the Alister MacKenzie Invitational at Sonoma Golf Club on Oct. 10-11, the Golden Bears will take five trips to states outside of California throughout the campaign.
Cal opens the season Sept. 4-5 in the Fighting Irish Classic, hosted by Notre Dame at Warren Golf Course in South Bend, Indiana. The Bears will clash with Stanford in the third Big Match on Sept. 29 at Menlo Country Club; Cal won each of the previous two Big Matches in 2018 and 2019.
The fall slate continues with a trip to Fayetteville, Arkansas for the Blessings Collegiate Invitational on Oct. 3-5 at Blessings Golf Club. After hosting the Alister MacKenzie Invitational in Sonoma on Oct. 10-11 for the first time since 2019, the Bears will conclude their fall season at UCF’s Isleworth Collegiate (Isleworth Country Club) in Windermere, Florida on Oct. 23-25.
Cal will jump into the 2023 calendar year with the Arizona Intercollegiate at Tucson Country Club on Jan. 30-31. The lone tournament scheduled for the month of February will take the Bears to the John A. Burns Intercollegiate at Ocean Course Hokuala in Lihue, Hawaii on Feb. 16-18. Cal will compete in the San Diego Classic at San Diego Country Club on March 6-7 and The Goodwin, hosted annually by Stanford at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco, on March 30-April 1.
The final month of the regular season heats up with short trips to Santa Cruz for San José State’s Western Intercollegiate at Pasatiempo Golf Club (April 10-12) and to UC Davis’ El Macero Classic on April 14-16. The Bears then join their conference brethren on April 27-30 for the Pac-12 Championship, hosted at Stanford Golf Course on The Farm.
NCAA Regional play will take place on May 15-17 at various sites, followed by the 2023 NCAA Championship on May 26-31 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona.
