This is from the Northwood Golf Club, one of our favorite hidden gems. Northwood is located just outside of Guerneville in the town of Monte Rio. It’s a haul from Pleasanton, but I would consider taking the drive just to take a walk through the tree-lined course that runs along side the Russian River.

Greetings Sonoma County residents,
It appears our good behavior – staying home and maintaining distance when out – is starting to work. We still have a ways to go, however, and our golf course remains closed for play.
Health authorities have informed us that California’s stay in place order requires all non-essential businesses to close to the public until further notice. Unfortunately, golf courses fall under the definition of non-essential. Your health and safety and the health and safety of our staff are our top priority, and to that end, we must suspend operations until cleared to reopen.
We know people want to get outside for some fresh air and exercise. We invite you to walk our course on the cart paths from 9 AM to 2 PM each day. No bikes or wheeled devices are allowed other than strollers and vehicles for the disabled. Pets are welcome and leash laws must be observed, and please pick up after them. We will enforce social distancing. Come on out and stroll amongst our gorgeous Redwoods. It’s a great cure for cabin fever.
